Hello and welcome to Pause for Applause!
What is this?! It is a week in September that we dedicate to saying a big THANK YOU to all our staff.
If you have been with the company long enough, you might remember our Celebrate Service initiative. Pause for Applause its basically our new name for it!
It’s been a challenging and very different 18 months for all of us. With the pandemic in full swing we reluctantly had to reduce staff in all areas in the hotels. Now, with travel restrictions and guidelines being lifted, we are facing all sorts of new challenges - food delivery, linen shortages, staffing challenges. We are looking for a new normal, doing the best we can by creating happy travel memories and making your guests’ experience as pleasant as can be.
You all play a key part in it - your dedication, endurance and persistence is incredible and very much appreciated.
Or you might have just joined the company and had to hit the ground running, not knowing table numbers, items on the menu or wondering what time check out is!!
So from the 13th to 19th September (in line with International Housekeeping Week and IHG’s ‘Giving back and Giving Thanks’ ) you can expect some little Thank yous from your GM/ Manager, there will be some goodies and surprises from Starboard Hotels and you might even find the Central Team helping you serve breakfast or being the Lobby Host for the day!!!

On the same day as the Macmillan Coffee Morning we will host a companywide Bake Off!! Send your submission to marketing@starboardhotels.com or display them in your lobby for sale.
